A former journalist and public relations specialist, Chris Green has worked in the cultural industries for over 30 years. He has held positions as Popular Events Director of the City of London Festival (1978-1991), Director of The Poetry Society (1989-1993) and CEO of the British Academy of Composers & Songwriters (now BASCA 1998-2008).
He now works as a consultant through his membership of the international consortium Arts Interlink and independently, is chair of the Learning Skills Foundation and a trustee of the Courtyard Arts centre in Hereford. He is a former Liberal Democrat Parliamentary Candidate was chair of the Liberal Party’s Arts Advisory Panel in the 1980’s and chaired the Liberal democrat’s recent working party on the BBC Charter Review. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a member of the Institute of Association Management.
